THE FIT IN: PILATES REFORMED II · BED-STUY
Reformer, Tower & Chair Pilates in Bed-Stuy
Our next-level equipment studio. Three machines, kettlebells and the jumpboard, with instructors who know your name. At 248 Patchen Ave, between Decatur and Bainbridge.
Where your Pilates goes next
Pilates Reformed II is built for clients who are ready for more. Every class moves between the reformer, the tower and the chair, so you're always working something new. Then we add kettlebells and the jumpboard. With 6 stations, your instructor still sees every rep and adjusts it to your body.
Brand new to Pilates? Start with Pilates Reformed: Fundamentals at our 410 Marcus Garvey studio, about a 12-minute walk. After about five classes, you'll be ready for everything here.
Three machines. One class
Reformer, tower and chair in every session, so your body never settles into autopilot.
Strength, then more strength.
Kettlebells in Strong, the jumpboard in Jump. This is where Pilates meets strength training.
Small room, real attention.
6 stations means hands-on cues and form corrections, even in the advanced classes.
Pilates Reformed: Open Level
Our classic class. It combines the reformer, tower and chair for a supported yet challenging and creative workout that strengthens and aligns the body from head to toe.
At least 5 Pilates Reformed: Fundamentals classes recommended.
Pilates Reformed: Strong
Kettlebells! No better combo. We add kettlebells to our classic mix of reformer, tower and chair for strength training and core Pilates in one class.
At least 5 Pilates Reformed: Fundamentals and 5 Strong: Fundamentals classes recommended. Not recommended if you have injuries or are new to kettlebells.
Pilates Reformed: Jump
We bring out the reformer's jumpboard for a cardio-focused class. Arms, legs and glutes will be on fire, and in Pilates we never forget the middle, so your core will feel it too.
Advanced: requires 15 Pilates Reformed classes and studio approval. Not recommended for knee or hip injuries. Email info@thefitinbedstuy.com to request access.
What's on the equipment?
Reformer: a sliding carriage with springs for resistance. It supports you and challenges you at the same time.
Tower: a frame with springs, a push-through bar and straps. It's great for building strength in the back, arms and legs, and for deep, supported stretching.
Chair: a compact box with a spring-loaded pedal. It's the toughest test of balance and control in Pilates, and it builds serious leg and core strength.
Jumpboard: a padded board that attaches to the reformer, so you can jump lying down. Cardio with no impact on your joints.
Looking for beginner sessions? Pilates Reformed: Fundamentals are taught at Pilates Reformed I, 410 Marcus Garvey BLVD which has reformer and tower.

Start with Pilates Reformed: Fundamentals at our 410 Marcus Garvey studio. Every class at Pilates Reformed II builds on it, and about five Fundamentals classes gets you ready.
-
A compact box with a spring-loaded pedal. You push, press and balance against it. It's small, but it's the most demanding piece of Pilates equipment for balance, leg strength and core control.
-
A padded board that attaches to the reformer. You jump while lying on your back, so you get cardio and power work without pounding your knees on the floor.
-
Kettlebells add real load for strength training, and Pilates keeps your alignment and core honest while you lift. Pilates Reformed: Strong gives you both in one class.
-
6 people. That's one per station, so your instructor can give you real attention.
